MOVIE TIME!! Scream 4: He's baaaaaaack...

(WARNING: If you have not seen this movie then I suggest you stop reading because I am holding nothing back regarding what happens in this movie. Therefore if you continue reading, you are hereby not allowed to blame me for ruining the ending for you. Neener Neener Neener)

The Cast: (Let's be serious here: Who wasn't in this movie?) Neve Campbell, Courteney Cox, David Arquette, Emma Roberts, Hayden Panettiere, Anthony Anderson, Adam Brody, Rory Culkin, Erik Knudsen, Lucy Hale, Shenae Grimes, Anna Paquin, Kristen Bell, Aimee Teegarden, Brittany Robertson, Alison Brie, Marley Shelton.

Phew that's a lot of people! The cast was not that bad. The acting is what it is. I was pretty happy to see Adam Brody whom I have loved ever since his days on the OC. He dies terribly. I mean both the way he died and his acting abilities in terms of death scenes. Ouch. (Trust me that ruins nothing). There are a lot of supporting characters that I hope get more recognition because they were fantastic. I thought Courteney Cox went a little Monica in this one and wasn't really the Gale Weathers I remember.

The only problem that I had with the cast was that they tried (and succeeded I guess?) to make the women all talk like dirty sailors and sound really super bitchy. Now I myself curse a LOT and I can also be super bitchy. It's just weird and unnecessary to watch actresses who normally don't play bitchy-constantly cursing people (and probably but possibly are like that in real life) on the big screen. Other than that, awesome! Love that the original cast came back! You know...minus the tons of people that died. Sad.

The Plot: I find it REALLY unnecessary to have to tell anyone what this movie was about but I'll go into it. It's the anniversary of the horrible murders and stabbings of the Ghost Face killer in good ol' Woodsboro and (shocking!) Sidney Prescott herself is back in town! Oddly enough on the day of her arrival for her book tour, the killer strikes again. A series of stabbings, with new twists and turns of course, ensues. Will Sidney actually survive this one?

The Real Deal: As usual if you're reading my blog you probably get a sense of LOTS of sarcasm coming from me when describing the plot. That's because this is (hopefully) the last in this series. When you get past number 2 in a movie franchise, it's hard to take it seriously. Except Harry Potter. OBVIOUSLY I take that very seriously.
So don't take my sarcasm the wrong way. I will admit I was excited to see this but being an avid scary/horror movie watcher (or any movie in general) I get skeptical when someone tries to continue a series. Especially when the last one was 11 years ago! However in this case I would like to say....I was pleasantly surprised!

It's completely possible that I enjoyed this movie more because I saw it in an IMAX theater with ridiculously loud surround sound (seriously I think CHINA heard this movie tonight) so perhaps the movie itself was pounded into my head so much that I liked it. But I really did enjoy myself. I was on the edge of my seat most of the time and jumped a LOT. Plus I kept going back and forth the entire time about who the killer is! (Despite my mean warning at the beginning of every blog including this one, and although I REALLY want to...I wont spoil who the killer is. Happy?)

All in all if you ever liked the other Scream movies then you will most likely enjoy this one. I mean Wes Craven himself directed this one, so you know it has to be half decent...right? Maybe? No? Well I thought he did a good job. It's entertaining, gory when it needs to be, jumpy when it should be and if you want to have a good time and be able to sleep at night (because you know this isn't THAT scary) then I suggest you go see it.

Just make sure you can answer one questione before you do: What's your favorite scary movie?

MOVIE TIME!! Adjustment Bureau suspense thriller…. SIKE!!

(WARNING: If you have not seen this movie then I suggest you stop reading because I am holding nothing back regarding what happens in this movie. Therefore if you continue reading, you are hereby not allowed to blame me for ruining the ending for you. Neener Neener Neener)

The Cast: Matt Damon, Emily Blunt, Michael Kelly, Anthony Mackie, John Slattery, Terrence Stamp

I really enjoyed all people in this movie. I liked that they kept Emily Blunt’s accent. I thought her and Matt Damon had really great chemistry. Overall there really isn’t much to say about this cast because I thought they all played their parts very well.

The Plot: Matt Damon is a young politician running for Senate despite being known as a rowdy Frat guy from Brooklyn. He seems to be the campaign favorite until a scandal surrounding a college prank splashes photos of him at the scene of the crime causing him to lose the political race. The night he loses he meets Emily Blunt’s character in the men’s bathroom and they hit it off right away with such great witty banter everyone wishes they had when they meet their soul mate and they end up making out until Damon’s campaign manager interrupts them. She runs away and her charismatic personality and words give Damon the courage to give a speech that saves his political career.  After he loses the race and goes back to the real world he meets Blunt again on a bus, but according to some guys in fedoras, that was not supposed to happen. Despite the odds (or guys in suits and fedoras) against him the two lovebirds that are not supposed to meet and fall in love manage to defy the odds and stay together. But it’s not easy.

The Real Deal: I’m sure everyone thought when they saw the trailer (as did I) that this was going to be a suspense thriller with chasing and action and sure there might be some sprinkles of love like most movies, but it’s really just about the suspense. WRONG! And what a great wrong it is! Yes there is suspense and a tiny bit of action (mostly just lots of running from the guys in spiffy fedoras) but who woulda thunkit that the real theme of this movie is that true love conquers all!

I went into this movie not knowing too much about it except for what I could get from the trailer which seemed like these two people like each other and keep running into each other and then these guys in cool Brat-Pack hats chase them everywhere. Which is actually the gist of the movie but yet there is so much more. Like I mentioned earlier I thought the chemistry between Damon and Blunt was just incredible. I mean they had the kind of movie relationship that I wish would happen in real life and also causes me to hate Hollywood for creating something that is obviously not real. Damn you Hollywood.
The real theme of the movie is not just that things are meant to be (which I totally believe!) but that true love conquers all. If you meet your other half and you really believe that you should be together then you will. And sure maybe you didn’t mean to spill your coffee on your shirt but maybe because you did and you missed the bus and got on the next one, you could meet the girl/guy of your dreams. Aren’t you glad you have that huge stain on your shirt now?

Stalking. Hey, its OK now!

In the past if you wanted to find ANYTHING about anyone, you probably felt a little weird about it. You don't want to seem too interested or ask too many questions because then everyone would think you're weird. Except now that practically everyone has a Facebook page, a Twitter page, a blog, or a YouTube video it is super easy to find at least something about everyone. And the funny thing about that, is that it's becoming more and more acceptable!
The website that is making more and more advances in stalking is Facebook. You may have thought it was Google since you can Google anything and everything these days (and trust me...I do), but nope its handy dandy Facebook. Sure you can manage your privacy settings and make it so that specific people can't see your pictures or wall posts (phew!) but now Facebook has come up with a, somewhat genius, new feature to help stalk the ones you love. Or want to love.
It's called the Breakup Notifier. If you have a crush and they happen to be involved with someone (for now) you can sign up with the Breakup Notifier and if/when they breakup with their old lover, they will notify you of the change giving you the opportunity to be their new lover! To get started on your quest for some stalktastic lovin' you go to the website, found conveniently at breakupnotifier.com, and you can begin your Stalking for Love journey a few easy steps: Login with your Facebook login, pick the person (or people; who says you can only love one person?) whom you want to be notified about and you're done! If the people you chose change their relationship status, you will be the first to find out.
I'd like to say that this new feature will help curb everyones stalking tendencies but lets be honest. You're totally checking their profile right now? Aren't you? AREN'T YOU?!
It's ok. I forgive you :)
